Today’s thoughts…

Today’s music that was stuck in my head was  “All I Ask of You” from Phantom of the Opera,  “Humble and Kind” by Tim McGraw and “Breakaway” by Kelly Clarkson.  Those songs were alternating inside my head today which all have a great beat.  I love music. Music is awesome. It lets your imagination go, dance and even mellow out.

Today I saw a new book arriving at work called “The Fifth Avenue Artists Society”

ARTIST

Once again the cover caught my eye and of course I’m putting this down on my list to read!  Here is what the book is about:

About the Book

The Bronx, 1891. Virginia Loftin, the boldest of four artistic sisters in a family living in genteel poverty, knows what she wants most: to become a celebrated novelist despite her gender, and to marry Charlie, the boy next door and her first love.

When Charlie proposes instead to a woman from a wealthy family, Ginny is devastated; shutting out her family, she holes up and turns their story into fiction, obsessively rewriting a better ending. Though she works with newfound intensity, literary success eludes her—until she attends a salon hosted in her brother’s writer friend John Hopper’s Fifth Avenue mansion. Among painters, musicians, actors, and writers, Ginny returns to herself, even blooming under the handsome, enigmatic John’s increasingly romantic attentions.

Just as she and her siblings have become swept up in the society, though, Charlie throws himself back into her path, and Ginny learns that the salon’s bright lights may be obscuring some dark shadows. Torn between two worlds that aren’t quite as she’d imagined them, Ginny will realize how high the stakes are for her family, her writing, and her chance at love.

Who’s gonna read that book???

On another matter, right before I went to bed, an author that I like posted a cover real.  My first reaction was that this is an awesome cover, but then my instinct jumped in saying to me “Haven’t you seen this before?”    It was driving me nuts, so I went to look at my books I had and found the book that has the exact same cover!    How often does this happen to authors of having the same cover?  Both books are two completely different stories. (I was too tired to post this last night so right now it now has been posted..) Do you think this will hurt the author’s sales?  Do you think this is right?   Tell me what you think of this.

And now for my last thought!

I came across this blog on twitter today:
Just. One. Book.

Take a peek at this!  This school doesn’t have the funds to have amazing books for these students to read.  The lady who wrote this is asking for one book to be sent.  I am planning on sending some books to this school.  Everyone should have access to read and fall into stories that make you learn and grow.  I hope you will send a book!

Those are my thoughts for today…
