In the second installment of this richly imagined fantasy adventure series, a new threat from within the Library could destroy those who depend upon it the most.

The Library of the Unwritten in Hell was saved from total devastation, but hundreds of potential books were destroyed. Former librarian Claire and Brevity the muse feel the loss of those stories, and are trying to adjust to their new roles within the Arcane Wing and Library, respectively. But when the remains of those books begin to leak a strange ink, Claire realizes that the Library has kept secrets from Hell–and from its own librarians.

Claire and Brevity are immediately at odds in their approach to the ink, and the potential power that it represents has not gone unnoticed. When a representative from the Muses Corps arrives at the Library to advise Brevity, the angel Rami and the erstwhile Hero hunt for answers in other realms. The true nature of the ink could fundamentally alter the afterlife for good or ill, but it entirely depends on who is left to hold the pen.

My Review:
A story that is fast paced, suspenseful, unique and leaves you wanting to know more is what this book gave me. I have read the first book and just was blown away by it. I knew I had to read more by this author. So I waited patiently for the book to arrive. Waiting and waiting. Then my local library had it. Now this second book takes you to another level of wow! It’s a whole new world you are stepping into. It’s sooooo unique. I loved it. I love the sass, the kindness, the curiosity, and devotion of the characters. They an odd bunch but they would fight tooth and nail for each other.

It did take me some time to read this book because of everything going on and my reading mojo was getting low. I am glad that I decided to keep reading this awesome fantasy adventure. The description of the setting, the emotions and words pouring out into the story was just fantastic. It was really rad taking the story further of Claire, Hero, Brevity and Ramiel identities in Hell’s Library setting. I just loved it.

You bet I will read the next book!

Go pick up her first book “The Library of the Unwritten” to read first before you read this one. You won’t regret it.

My name is Madison Avery, and I’m here to tell you that there’s more out there than you can see, hear, or touch. Because I’m there. Seeing it. Touching it. Living it.

Madison’s prom was killer—literally. Now, thanks to a mysterious amulet, she’s stuck on Earth: dead but not gone. She has no idea why the dark reaper who did her in was after her, but she’s not about to just sit around and let fate take its course. With a little skilled light-bending, the help of a light reaper (one of the good guys . . . maybe), her cute crush, and oh yeah, her guardian angel, Madison’s ready to take control of her own destiny once and for all, before it takes control of her.

Well, if she believed in that stuff.

Book Review : Unnatural Souls by Linda Foster

It’s been almost a year since the night of the accident that should have killed Grace. Nearly a year since her brother, Ash, sold his soul to save her. She survived, but that wasn’t the end of their story.

Not even close.

In the months since, Grace’s life has turned upside down. She can move objects with her mind, teleport in a blink of an eye, see dead people … and that’s just the tip of the crazy train.

And that would be fine, really … if she had any idea how to control it.

Instead, she’s stuck in a body that does things she doesn’t understand. And now, the contract her brother made for her life is drawing to a close. Which means he’s running out of time before the demon comes to collect his soul.

Unless Grace can find a way to save him.

When an angel named Michael shows up with answers and an offer to help her, she jumps at the chance—and agrees to help him with his own mission as the price.

Then she finds out that Michael is working with another demon. That the deal she’s made … is no better than the one from which she’s trying to save Ash. And she’s faced with a choice: turn and walk away, or try to save her brother—by working with the very monsters who have nearly destroyed them both.

My Review:

The style of the book grabbed my attention.  Well to be honest, the cover is caught my eyes first.  It’s amazing!!!  Love love love it! *cue the drooling*    I want to own this book in paperback.  *hint hint to the publisher!*   Anyways,  I continue to read on and the story began to pick up quickly.   One thing after another was happening!   The main character, Grace was very determined to get to her goal  achieved which was to save her brother Ash.   (I love the names of the characters in this storyline!)   Throughout the process Grace learns of  some thing as I am not going to list all of them.  You have to get the story!  The major one is she’s caught in a middle of a controversy between Heaven and Hell.

Wait I know what you are thinking!!  ‘Oh no!  It’s another Heaven vs Hell storyline and la la la”     It’s not.  Believe me it is not!     I kept on reading it and it had me going for the next page after another.  It is quite a story!!   I loved it and I want more of it.  There are twist and turns.   I’m looking forward to the next installment!    Go get this amazing story today and you won’t regret it.

PS:  The cover will click with you after you read the story!

Book Update

Okay so far I have read these two books below:

Twice Temptation – Jeaniene Frost  I can’t stop reading these series. I need to get the 3rd one!  The two main characters in this book is quite fascinating.  I keep wanting to know what is going to happen to them or how they are going to react to each other.

Night’s Promise by Amanda Ashley.  This book was okay considering  I am a big fan of the author.   The cover caught my eye as the storyline is rather interesting.  Vampires all around.

Right now I’m currently reading Passenger by Alexandra Bracken.  I just started it so we shall see where it takes me.  The cover is stunning!   Time travel adventures.

These will be next to read:  Almost to Die for by Tate Hallaway.   Even Vampires Get the Blues by Sandra Hill.

Mercy by Rebecca Lin

Disclaimer: I bought this book to read for myself and to give it an honest opinion.

Author: Rebecca Lin
Pages: 280
Publishing Date: October 19, 2010
Publisher: Disney Press

Mercy is an exile from heaven with shattered memories of who she used to be. She’s doomed to “wake” repeatedly on earth, each time in a new body, and assuming a new life. During the day she survives in the human world on instinct, and at night her dreams are haunted by her lost love, who pleads with her to find him. This time is different. When Mercy wakes up she meets Ryan, an eighteen-year-old reeling from the loss of his twin sister, Lauren, who was kidnapped two years ago. Only Mercy and Ryan believe his sister is still alive. For the first time she can remember, Mercy has a purpose: she can help. So she doesn’t understand why the man in her dreams cautions her not to interfere. But as Ryan and Mercy come closer to solving the mystery of Lauren’s disappearance, danger looms just one step behind. Will Mercy be able to harness her extraordinary power in time? The first in a dazzling new series, Mercy masterfully weaves romance, mystery, and the supernatural into a spellbinding tale that readers will devour.

My Take
This cover caught my eye as I snatched it up! The story itself I just liked it. It did take me a little time to get into Mercy. Angels are the name of this game which was different for me to read. I tend to read this genre once in a blue moon.

Anyways, Mercy is her name. That is what she calls herself since she cannot remember her name. Although the one things she does remember is a haunting man name Luc who appears in her dreams and promises to be reunited. She often finds herself in new places and bodies as she soul jacks a person. All she knows is she has been going to one person’s shell to another and has very faint memories of who she’d been. Mercy also has a power where she can touch a person and see into them of their thoughts and incidents that make them who they are. After learning of this about Mercy it made me wonder why she was in this “doomed” status.

The body Mercy is in is named Carmen. Carmen is a foster child who is in with a family that has their daughter Lauren missing for two years now. Mercy is curious about this. Ryan, who is Lauren’s brother is still trying to figure out what happened to her. Mercy joins in Ryan in his hunt of clues and interviewing people. They try to put the pieces together. Suspense hits the spot along with romance and supernatural elements.

At the end of the book it wraps untangles Lauren’s disappearance in a nice way. Although it does make you feel a bit sad for Mercy because she has to leave the boy she cared about. The ending did leave me curious. I may try to get the second book.

Go get this book, if you want something different to read!
