Thoughts on the movies:  Jurassic World was awesome!  Action and dinosaurs!  Chris Pratt played his character well.  It was an interesting concept.  I had a hunch on a few parts of the movie and knew the one character was going to die.

DeadPool – Ryan Reynolds!!!!!!!  Do I need to say more?

THE BOOK TODAY IS:
Beauty and the Clockwork Beast by Nancy Campbell Allen

Beast

Just like in the classic”Beauty and the Beast, “this Steampunk Romance features an unlikely love story.

The Lord of Blackwell Manor, Miles, is plagued by a family curse that changes him into a shape-shifting wolf every month during the full moon. Lucy-a smart, attractive, and well-respected botanist-travels to Blackwell Manor to take care of her sick cousin, Kate, who is married to Miles’s younger brother. For Lucy, the trip is a welcomed respite from her work and recent discovery-a breakthrough serum that could eliminate the scourge of vampires from London.

However, Lucy finds more than she bargained for when she arrives at the Manor. Miles, who is brash and inhospitable, does not take kindly to visitors. He is still unsettled by the mysterious death of his newlywed wife. And then there’s Marie, Miles’s sister, who was attacked and murdered just weeks earlier. Miles is horrified to think that he might be to blame for the deaths.  And who is the ghost that haunt the halls? Lucy is convinced that the death of Miles’s wife and sister-as well as her cousin’s mysterious illness-are tied together, but how?

Lady Charlesworth has her eye on inheriting Blackwell Manor for her family. Could her daughter, Candice, or her son, Arthur, have had a hand in the mysterious deaths? The clues make a vampire suspect highly likely.

During her investigation, Lucy finds herself caring deeply for Miles, but he fights to keep his distance in order to protect Lucy from his family’s secret. And, yet, he feels attracted toward the woman who is able to look past the fearsome-looking scar that has marred his handsome face.  With no other option, Miles and Lucy must work together if they are to find the answer to the mysteries at the Manor. But that’s not all Lucy wants to solve. There’s a deeper mystery behind Miles. Can she solve that, too? Ultimately, she must decide if she can love the man, beast and all.

Beauty routine.   I have always struggled with beauty routine since high school years and such.   I have slowly started to get into a routine and hopefully it’ll help clear up my skin.   I just started using the Loreal mud mask to see how it works out.  I managed to snag the red one to test it out.  I do like it.  It does have a strong smell but it goes away after you get used to it.  My skin feels smooth after using and I’m watching if my pores get smaller a bit or cleaner.

Right now I’m using Neutrogena® Naturals Purifying Cream Cleanser along with the Mud Mask and then for a moisturizer it’s Oil of Olay but I may change it to something else instead but I have not figured out which one yet.   Any suggestions?

Cool Artist to follow:
Check out Lord Mesa artwork   The guy is so talented!  I want to own on of his prints.   Follow him!!

Jasmine Becket-Griffith   Is another artist that I love!  She does such amazing work to her stuff.  I have a few prints of hers and one canvas print (sea turtle!!)    Follow her as well.

I love helping out other artists!  I love art.  I wish I could get better at it but the only way is to keep practicing.  That’s one my goals as well.

I close for now so I can go off to go do something artistic!

Today Miss Chandler gave me this beautiful book. I vow that I will never forget her kindness to me, and I will use this book as she told me to—that I will write in it with truth and refinement…But who could be refined living at Steeple Farm?

Fourteen-year-old Joan Skraggs, just like the heroines in her beloved novels, yearns for real life and true love. But what hope is there for adventure, beauty, or art on a hardscrabble farm in Pennsylvania where the work never ends? Over the summer of 1911, Joan pours her heart out into her diary as she seeks a new, better life for herself—because maybe, just maybe, a hired girl cleaning and cooking for six dollars a week can become what a farm girl could only dream of—a woman with a future.

Seventeen-year-old RJ always gets what she wants. So when her soul is accidentally collected by a distracted Grim Reaper, somebody in the afterlife better figure out a way to send her back from the dead or heads will roll. But in her quest for mortality, she becomes a pawn in a power struggle between an overzealous archangel and Death Himself. The tribunal presents her with two options: she can remain in the lobby, where souls wait to be processed, until her original lifeline expires, or she can replay three moments in her life in an effort to make choices that will result in a future deemed worthy of being saved. It sounds like a no-brainer. She’ll take a walk down memory lane. How hard can changing her future be?

But with each changing moment, RJ’s life begins to unravel, until this self-proclaimed queen bee is a social pariah. She begins to wonder if walking among the living is worth it if she has to spend the next sixty years as an outcast. Too quickly, RJ finds herself back in limbo, her time on Earth once again up for debate.

RJ is a snarky, unapologetic, almost unredeemable, very real girl. Her story is funny and moving, and teens will easily connect with her plight. Prepare to meet the Grim Reaper, who’s cuter than you’d expect; Hawaiian shirt–wearing Death Himself; Saint Peter (who likes to play Cornhole); and Al, the handler for the three-headed hound that guards the gates of Hell. This cast of characters accompanies RJ through her time in the afterlife and will do their best to gently shove her in the right direction.

When you’re the daughter of the bestselling Queen of Romance, life should be pretty good. But 16-year-old Alice Amorous has been living a lie ever since her mother was secretly hospitalized for mental illness. After putting on a brave front for months, time is running out. The next book is overdue, and the Queen can’t write it. Alice needs a story for her mother-and she needs one fast.

That’s when she meets Errol, a strange boy who claims to be Cupid, who insists that Alice write about the greatest love story in history: his tragic relationship with Psyche. As Alice begins to hear Errol’s voice in her head and see things she can’t explain, she must face the truth-that she’s either inherited her mother’s madness, or Errol is for real.

Any of these strike your fancy?  I may have to pick up all of these after I get done reading Alyssa Rose Ivy’s Forged in Ice.      By the way, I have read Suzanne Selfors’ Coffeehouse Angel  which is an adorable book.

A game to end all games. On the line: her family’s future. Will Helen’s creation be enough to win the day? Or will she lose, and take her family down with her?

Helen Hunter’s father hopes to make his fortune by sending a robotic rover, controlled from Earth, to mine the surface of Mars for precious ores.

But there’s a catch. To do it, he’ll have to assume financial responsibility for the rover.  And on the harsh and desolate surface of Mars, one false move can mean the difference between untold riches and utter disaster. It’s a risky move that could spell doom for the entire family … and their hopes for the future.

Unless Helen can intervene.

The company behind the mining system—MARSCORP—is holding a junior gaming competition at their annual convention, and this is her chance. Grand prize is a one-year lease on a brand new Mars mining rover. Winning would mean that her father gets his shot at the Martian bonanza without any risk to the family.

But it won’t be easy. Teens from all over the country have come to compete. Some are smart. Others, ruthless. And Helen’s not the only one who needs to win. The mission: use her personally designed robot to fight it out in a high-tech arena that can simulate any environment, real or imagined. Beat the competitors. Bring home the prize.

Luckily for Helen, gaming and robot design are her specialties.

And when she unleashes her newest creation on the competition, a miniature homemade rover she calls DEBBI, the world is going to see just how skilled she really is.

The question is … will it be enough?

Not even close.

In the months since, Grace’s life has turned upside down. She can move objects with her mind, teleport in a blink of an eye, see dead people … and that’s just the tip of the crazy train.

And that would be fine, really … if she had any idea how to control it.

Instead, she’s stuck in a body that does things she doesn’t understand. And now, the contract her brother made for her life is drawing to a close. Which means he’s running out of time before the demon comes to collect his soul.

Unless Grace can find a way to save him.

When an angel named Michael shows up with answers and an offer to help her, she jumps at the chance—and agrees to help him with his own mission as the price.

Then she finds out that Michael is working with another demon. That the deal she’s made … is no better than the one from which she’s trying to save Ash. July update

It’s July!  Whoooo!  Hope everyone has an excellent July!

July 4th is a special holiday to me because it was a time just for my dad and I only.  Father and daughter bond.  I loved it and will continue to love it with my kids.  I’m passing the tradition on and I hope my kids will love it too.

Songs that have been in my head is Change by Christina Aguilera,  All of Me by John Legend with Lindsay Stirling,  and  People Like us by Kelly Clarkson.

I just recently saw a movie called “Only Lovers Left Alive” with Tom Hiddleston in it.  Vampires are what this movie was about.  It was rather fascinating to watch but felt a tad long for my liking.  I loved the guitars that were shown. There were  a few awesome lines that made me chuckle.  Check it out if you want to try something new or you are a fan of Tom Hiddleston.  I do have to admit Tom as a moody vampire is pretty hot.  There is a nude scene in it too!  The only reason I found this film was due to Anton Yelchin passing away.  (Anton Yelchin was awesome in the Star Trek movie!  RIP)

ONLY

I’m still reading the one book called “Summoning” by Carol Wolf.  It’s packed with adventure of the supernatural.  Hopefully I can get that done soon.

SUMMONING

My To Read Pile of Books keeps growing!  On Good Reads I think I have over 800 books.  I have no clue if I can accomplish that.  Books that I have read is over 400.    Plus I have tons of books sitting in my one room that needs to be read.  So hopefully after I finish “The Summoning”, I  can tackle another one.  So many books and so little time.  I think I may have to snag a page in every free moment I get.

I saw the movie God of Egypt as I thought the storyline was awesome but the cast should have been a bit more realistic in how Egypt was.  Do not get me wrong that I think Gerald Butler is amazing but it was weird seeing him casted as a God.  The whole plot was pretty amazing.   Adventure and love!  It kind of reminded me of the movie: The Mummy.  Action and adventure and love!   I much prefer Gerald Butler in Phantom of the Opeara or PS I Love You.

GOD

One more movie to mention….It’s a Hallmark movie called The Wedding March.  I got sucked into the Hallmark channel..Yes I do love romance and love and happy endings.   Anyways, this movie was pretty good.

WeddingMarch
When former college sweethearts Olivia Parsons and Mick Turner are unexpectedly reunited the weekend of Olivia’s wedding, the former couple initially locks horns but as the events of the weekend unfold, Olivia and Mick find old feelings rising to the surface. Will the bride-to-be walk down the aisle as planned or will she decide to give her first love a second chance?

On a serious note, I have too many thoughts in my head of lately.  Juggling the life of a single mother, a woman,  and a worker.  Not an easy task to do.  I’m glad I have help around when I need it but I can only imagine to those who do not have it.  It is tough!

Someone asked me once if I would ever date again.  The I told them,  “No not right now. Life is a tad busy and I have other priorities in life to tend to than dating.”

As I reflected on this question for a bit in my head I began to wonder.  I was right on the note that I would not even have the time for dating.  How and what and when would I do this?  I’m tired sometimes by 9:30 pm or 1o pm unless my night owl kicks in gear.   Then I thought about my kids thinking this would confuse the hell out of them so no way!  Then I thought about myself.   Would I ever be suitable for any normal and decent guy out there?   Would I want to snuggle and enjoy another’s company?  All these questions bouncing in my head like a beach ball.

Some days I’m like it would be nice to snuggle as other days I’m like I do not need drama.

I realized that everyone is different.  Some people need others and some people can handle being alone.   Then I realize that divorce does suck no matter what.  No matter what the situation is, it hurts.   Everyone’s situation is different.  The past few months I have know three other women in process of getting divorce.   Each of them has their reasons for it.

For me in my mind, I think divorce figures out who you are and that what your definition of a relationship is.  For me my reason is complicated.  I rather keep it private.   Although   the process of going through it:  You get mad, you then grieve and then you stand up for yourself eventually.  That’s what I went through and how I felt.   To those going through it, hang tough.  To those who have been through it, keep living!

What possessed me to write about this?  I just felt like I should say my piece in a nice way.  Things happen: whether it’s happy or sadness or an emotional roller coaster, you find something on the other side.  You live somehow.  You learn from your mistakes and you learn to reach for the better.

Everyone’s life is different.

Okay..that was pretty serious wasn’t it?   Maybe I should do a serious topic in each bit of the blog along with other bits?

I am going to end for now.  More to come soon.

Middle of the Week

So it’s the middle of the week and it’s been going pretty good.   Today was a hot day out here as I  had to figure out the best way to keep my house cool.  What I did was I found these old golden curtains I bought years ago (I bought them for my children’s room so it could be magical and superhero like type of thing) and decided to hang them up in the front.   Well the sun hits the front of the house quite a bit  in the morning and all that for a while.   I thought this would help keep the house cooler on hot days and all.   Well it turned out pretty well.   For now this is going to be a short solution, hopefully maybe get some simple blinds.  It costs money!  I am on a budget and must watch how I spend on things.

Today’s song that was stuck in my head was “All of Me” by John Legend with Lindsey Stirling.  I love love love this collaboration between the two of them.   It makes me want to twirl and dance.

The book I came across today was  “I Just Want to Pee Alone” by a group of various mothers.

IJUST

Basically the book (description is taken from Amazon: Now a NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLER. Motherhood is the toughest – and funniest – job you’ll ever love. Raising kids is hard work. The pay sucks, your boss is a tyrant, and the working conditions are pitiful – you can’t even take a bathroom break without being interrupted with another outrageous demand. Hasn’t every mother said it before? “I just want to pee alone!” I Just Want to Pee Alone is a collection of hilarious essays from 37 of the most kick ass mom bloggers on the web. Including: People I Want to Punch in the Throat, Insane in the Mom-Brain, The Divine Secrets of a Domestic Diva, Baby Sideburns, and Rants From Mommyland. Read hysterical essays like: Embarrassment, Thy Name is Motherhood A Pinterest-Perfect Mom, I am Not And Then There was that Time a Priest Called Me a Terrible Mother So She Thought She Could Cut Off My Stroller.

I did peek at it as it was hilarious in some parts!  The title alone caught my eye since I am mother and it does happen that children do knock on the door or come in when you are using the bathroom.   It’s a part of life, a parent life.   So if this tickles your fancy, go check it out and get some laughs!

FORCE

I have joined in the ranks of seeing this film!  Wow!!   I love the twists and turn on this movie.  Some aspects I did not see coming and others I had a hunch.  Perhaps I am in touch with the Force.   The cast was totally epic and I loved loved seeing the original cast to come back for this (Leia, Han Solo, Chewie, C3PO, R2D2 and Luke).  Rey kicks ass, Finn shows a softer side and then gathers courage, Poe is one feisty fighter and BB-8 was quite an interesting android.   I cannot wait for the next one.   Yes I have seen all the Star Wars films and I never get tired of them.  I believe the first Star War movie I saw when was of the age 6 and loved every detail of it.  I even had a nightmare of Dark Vader back in the day that tried to literally make my one teacher in a hot air balloon. (Yup I get very very strange dreams at times..don’t ask me why…maybe REM sleep or brain is thinking too much and then decides to hit sci-fi land?  hahaha!)   I love the adventure, story, feelings, the good vs evil, the music, the details to everything in these movies.  It is amazing!

And I leave with you these thoughts for the night as I jump into the land of sleep.

Today’s thoughts…

Today’s music that was stuck in my head was  “All I Ask of You” from Phantom of the Opera,  “Humble and Kind” by Tim McGraw and “Breakaway” by Kelly Clarkson.  Those songs were alternating inside my head today which all have a great beat.  I love music. Music is awesome. It lets your imagination go, dance and even mellow out.

Today I saw a new book arriving at work called “The Fifth Avenue Artists Society”

ARTIST

Once again the cover caught my eye and of course I’m putting this down on my list to read!  Here is what the book is about:

About the Book

The Bronx, 1891. Virginia Loftin, the boldest of four artistic sisters in a family living in genteel poverty, knows what she wants most: to become a celebrated novelist despite her gender, and to marry Charlie, the boy next door and her first love.

When Charlie proposes instead to a woman from a wealthy family, Ginny is devastated; shutting out her family, she holes up and turns their story into fiction, obsessively rewriting a better ending. Though she works with newfound intensity, literary success eludes her—until she attends a salon hosted in her brother’s writer friend John Hopper’s Fifth Avenue mansion. Among painters, musicians, actors, and writers, Ginny returns to herself, even blooming under the handsome, enigmatic John’s increasingly romantic attentions.

Just as she and her siblings have become swept up in the society, though, Charlie throws himself back into her path, and Ginny learns that the salon’s bright lights may be obscuring some dark shadows. Torn between two worlds that aren’t quite as she’d imagined them, Ginny will realize how high the stakes are for her family, her writing, and her chance at love.

Who’s gonna read that book???
SMILE
On another matter, right before I went to bed, an author that I like posted a cover real.  My first reaction was that this is an awesome cover, but then my instinct jumped in saying to me “Haven’t you seen this before?”    It was driving me nuts, so I went to look at my books I had and found the book that has the exact same cover!    How often does this happen to authors of having the same cover?  Both books are two completely different stories. (I was too tired to post this last night so right now it now has been posted..) Do you think this will hurt the author’s sales?  Do you think this is right?   Tell me what you think of this.

And now for my last thought!

I came across this blog on twitter today:
Just. One. Book.

Take a peek at this!  This school doesn’t have the funds to have amazing books for these students to read.  The lady who wrote this is asking for one book to be sent.  I am planning on sending some books to this school.  Everyone should have access to read and fall into stories that make you learn and grow.  I hope you will send a book!

Those are my thoughts for today…

Book Update

Okay so far I have read these two books below:

Twice Temptation – Jeaniene Frost  I can’t stop reading these series. I need to get the 3rd one!  The two main characters in this book is quite fascinating.  I keep wanting to know what is going to happen to them or how they are going to react to each other.

TwiceTEmpted

Night’s Promise by Amanda Ashley.  This book was okay considering  I am a big fan of the author.   The cover caught my eye as the storyline is rather interesting.  Vampires all around.

NightPromise

Right now I’m currently reading Passenger by Alexandra Bracken.  I just started it so we shall see where it takes me.  The cover is stunning!   Time travel adventures.

TPassenger

These will be next to read:  Almost to Die for by Tate Hallaway.   Even Vampires Get the Blues by Sandra Hill.
