Characters of new and old come to play in this last book.
So a new character comes to play as I was taken off guard by this character. At first I thought this character was in cahoots with the evil bad vampires who have no mortality left in them but I was wrong. So wrong and yet was like “Yes” due to the fact this character was cool in its own way. You’ll have to read to find out what that character was all about.
Isn’t it rad when the author comes up with something pretty damn cool in a story?
Something happens to Ben which made me feel so much for Maddy. Maddy was so worried for her brother. I could not believe this would happen. Does he survive? What will become of him?
Of course Ben isn’t the only one who has something happening to him.
Alexandre gets in danger and everyone is concerned! What could it be? How? Who? What? Why? I had all these questions about what happened to Alexandre. As the story goes on towards the end, it all makes sense. At first I was like no no no it cannot be but then I realized ‘hey this makes a good story and yet will Alexandre live?’
Once again the author does have some more history that ties in with what is going on. It all made sense to me. I know some people don’t like the back and forth time frame but I did with this series! It was easy and gave a perfect flow for the story.
Action, adventure, historical elements, feelings and real relationships are magical in this book that the author creates. Even the vampires in this book is pretty cool..the good and the evil side of vampires!
Pick up the entire series today and you won’t regret it. I am so glad that I decided to read these books. I will always enjoy the adventures Madison and Alexandre. Would there ever be more adventures of this family?

She considers cutting her losses, but her friends help her stay invested, boosting her spirits with ice cream and cheap wine that they share in their sixth-floor walk-up while recapping cringe-worthy dates.
And then Rae meets Dustin, a poetic soul trapped in a business suit, just like her. She starts to hear wedding bells, but Dustin’s story is a complicated one, and no amount of financial modeling can project what their future will look like.
Can Rae free herself from the idea she had of what thirty was supposed to look like and let love breathe on its own timeline? Or is she too conditioned to stay on the “right track” to follow her unpaved intuition?
MY REVIEW: I had mixed feelings about this story. The summary is great but the relationship between Rae and Dustin just didn’t click to me as a romcom. Granted not every romance is super awesome magic but I can’t explain it. It just was different.
Dustin was battling depression and I’m aware that everyone copes with it differently. The communication and not acknowledging how he treated her was not a good thing. I wish the communication was a bit better between them. I’m not going to launch into everything about this. I will say there were a few sparks between them but it just short ones. I did like the poetry banter between them.
Other than trying to figure out her relationship goal, RaeI had to decide what to do about her work life. Does she stick with a job that gets her living or does she go after her dream? That’s a tough choice and it’s relatable!
It seems like Rae has lots of things going on in her life like her work, trying to get a relationship, her family dynamics, and her friends. I understand people have these things going on. She seemed young and I think she needed more time to figure out things.
Maybe it was the flow of the book that was long for me. It was a bit blah to me at the end.
This book I would say it’s a bit dark, maybe triggering for some and just different. As I said I have mixed feelings on this story. That is all I can say.

In our new post–COVID-19 world, how do we prevent future illnesses by expanding scientific and vaccine diplomacy and cooperation, especially to combat the problems that humans have brought on ourselves?
Modern diseases and viruses have been spurred anew by war and conflict as well as shifting poverty, urbanization, climate change, and a new troubling anti-science/anti-vaccination outlook. From such twenty-first-century forces, we have seen declines in previous global health gains, with sharp increases in vaccine-preventable and neglected diseases on the Arabian Peninsula, in Venezuela, in parts of Africa, and even on the Gulf Coast of the United States. In Preventing the Next Pandemic, international vaccine scientist and tropical disease and coronavirus expert Peter J. Hotez, MD, PhD, argues that we can―and must―rely on vaccine diplomacy to address this new world order in disease and global health.
