Magic is harder than it looks.

Thirteen-year-old Moth Hush loves all things witchy. But she’s about to discover that witches aren’t just the stuff of movies, books, and spooky stories. When some eighth-grade bullies try to ruin her Halloween, something really strange happens. It turns out that Founder’s Bluff, Massachusetts, has a centuries-old history of witch drama. And, surprise: Moth’s family is at the center of it all! When Moth’s new powers show up, things get totally out-of-control. She meets a talking cat, falls into an enchanted diary, and unlocks a hidden witch world. Secrets surface from generations past as Moth unravels the complicated legacy at the heart of her town, her family, and herself.

Moth Hush is starting to settle into her newfound witch heritage and powers, but life at school continues to be rough. Even her best friend, Charlie, doesn’t entirely understand what it’s like for her to always be the one who gets mocked, and things only get worse when Moth’s mom starts dating one of the dorkiest teachers in the school! Then Moth gets hold of a mysterious charm that can unleash another version of herself—one who is confident, cool, and extremely popular. What could possibly go wrong?

Could there really be witches in Brooklyn?!

Effie’s aunts are weird. Like, really WEIRD. Really, really, really WEIRD! The secretly-magic kind of weird and that makes Effie wonder . . . does this mean she can do magic, too?

Could there be even MORE witches in Brooklyn?!

Effie is EXCITED to meet so many witches, but what is going on with her friends? Suddenly Effie is no longer the newest kid in school, and it seems like her friends are happy to grow their little group, but Effie isn’t so sure. On top of that, learning magic is HARD WORK!

Effie just wants to have fun being a witch, but her life in Brooklyn is about to get weird(er).

The bewitching second book in the Witches of Brooklyn series captures what it means to be a friend, and how growing up can be a little less scary if you throw some magic in the mix.

Orphan Witch is out to purchase

Go pick up Orphan Witch by Paige Crutcher today!!
It’s out!!!

What the book is about:

A deeper magic. A stronger curse. A family lost…and found.

Persephone May has been alone her entire life. Abandoned as an infant and dragged through the foster care system, she wants nothing more than to belong somewhere. To someone. However, Persephone is as strange as she is lonely. Unexplainable things happen when she’s around―changes in weather, inanimate objects taking flight―and those who seek to bring her into their family quickly cast her out. To cope, she never gets attached, never makes friends. And she certainly never dates. Working odd jobs and always keeping her suitcases half-packed, Persephone is used to moving around, leaving one town for another when curiosity over her eccentric behavior inevitably draws unwanted attention.

After an accidental and very public display of power, Persephone knows it’s time to move on once again. It’s lucky, then, when she receives an email from the one friend she’s managed to keep, inviting her to the elusive Wile Isle. The timing couldn’t be more perfect. However, upon arrival, Persephone quickly discovers that Wile is no ordinary island. In fact, it just might hold the very things she’s been searching for her entire life.

Answers. Family. Home.

And some things she did not want. Like 100-year-old curses and an even older family feud. With the clock running out, love might be the magic that saves them all.

Book update and more…

I know, it’ s been a long time since I have updated on what I am reading.  Life gets in the way.  Being a mother, a library worker and taking care of my house and trying to tend to my hobbies has made me spin around and fall asleep.   Life takes a path here and there. And now here are some updates…

So I did read the 3rd book – Bound by Flames (Night Prince #3) by Jeaniene Frost as it was totally epic!  I do need to get the fourth one as the author did tweet to me that it won’t be out until much later!  I have to wait.  Ohhhhhhhhh be still my heart.    I look forward to seeing her book.

BoundbyFlames

I just finished Jane Vows Vengeance by Michael Thomas Ford.  The cover caught my attention at the library as it was going to the books sale.  I snagged it!  It was quite an interesting read.   Vampires, adventure, historical Jane Austen..imagination and some witty comments in there.   This is the second book as I have not read the first one.

JaneVows

Right now I’m currently reading “Summoning” by Carol Wolf.  This book reminds me of Vampires/Werewolves type of scene.  Not Twilight type but the story is more geared to World of Darkness type of thing.    So far I like it.  I love the main character named Amber who is a wolf shifter and can kick butt.  Her story is rather unique!

SUMMONING

One more update: I watched “Pride and Prejudice Zombies” which was interesting.  I know the plot of Pride and Prejudice because I have read the book a few times (it’s one of my favorites!) and seen the various films of it.  The Zombie side was quite interesting and unique.   Historical with sword fighting and the action was awesome.  I loved the costumes in this movie too.    I may purchase the movie down the road.

ZOMBIES

This is a short update! I am going to try to do more updates when I can.  As I mentioned before life is busy here at times.   On that note, earlier tonight I was outside with my amazing children as the air was chilly and felt perfect to have a bonfire (sadly I do not have a fire pit or anything for that) .  Then my mind wandered to the thought of having someone to snuggle with in this chilly weather would be perfect.  Mind you, a romance relationship is the last thing on my mind.  I have other priorities in life and I thought it was interesting how this thought came to my mind tonight.  Maybe I can use this thought in writing one of my stories!

Til then….

Sherry Soule ~ Spellbound Fun Promo

Today Sherry Soule, the author of the popular Spellbound Series, has some exciting news to share with us! All the previously published books in the series have been completely revamped with more epic romance, sizzling character chemistry, and thrilling new scenes!

The revised versions also include exclusive bonus material. To help promote the new editions, Sherry is doing this awesome guest post to share the update with fellow booklovers. We have personal letter about the series from the author:

Dear Reader,

Welcome to the Spellbound series, which is set in the eerie world of Fallen Oaks. North of San Francisco, between Larkspur and Madrone Woodlands in Marin County, this coastal town’s magical charm and sweeping beauty is only a superficial façade. Nothing more than a smokescreen to conceal its murky history. Those familiar with this area will realize I’ve taken some artistic freedom with this wooded setting. Ah, the power of a storyteller! I’ve chosen the backdrop of Northern California for an obvious reason. It is a beautiful area of lakes, forests, and wildlife.

On a special note, three amazing things really do exist in this locale: the lush forest of Muir Woods, the majesty of Mount Tamalpais, and San Francisco’s infamous roiling fog. I chose to retain these intriguing facets of the region because they contribute to the storyline in a very significant way.

In these serialized novels, you’ll learn the secrets of Fallen Oaks and more about the quirky inhabitants that populate this peculiar neighborhood, where it seems everyone has something to hide. Discover what skulks in the fog and prowls within the dense forest.

Meet the teenage residents that have good looks, lots of teen angst, and a fair share of supernatural intrigue. Read about Trent and Shiloh’s love story, which began with a mixture of lustful teen hormones and beguiling attraction. When Shiloh and Trent first meet, they both feel an instant connection, but at its core, it is a tale about the power of first love and the courage of two hearts that were meant to beat tremendous odds just to be together.

Happy reading,
Sherry

These are the new book covers created for the series!

Deadly Witchcraft. Ghostly Threats. Doomed Romance.

They say every town has its secrets, but that doesn’t even begin to describe Fallen Oaks. The townsfolk are a superstitious lot and the mystical disappearance of a local teen has everyone murmuring about a centuries old witch’s curse.

When sixteen-year-old Shiloh Trudell takes a summer job at Craven Manor, she discovers a ghost with an agenda. That’s where she meets the new town hottie, Trent Donovan, and immediately becomes enchanted by his charms. Finally, Shiloh’s met someone who is supercute and totally into her, but Trent is immersed in the cunning deception that surrounds the mysterious Craven Manor. So much so that he may lose sight of what is truly important to him. And she can’t decide whether she wants to shake him or kiss him. Yet neither one of them can deny the immediate, passionate connection growing between them.

But underlying everything is the fear that Trent may be the next victim on a supernatural hit list, and Shiloh is the only person with the power to save him…

With cryptic messages from a pesky wraith, Shiloh will finally begin to understand the mysterious significance of the strange mark branded on her wrist and decide how much she’s willing to sacrifice to protect the other teenagers in town.

Unfortunately, for Shiloh, not all ghosts want help crossing over. Some want vengeance.

Dark Magick. Town Curses. Dangerous Secrets.

Shiloh Trudell wishes she were an ordinary girl. But for as long as she can remember, she has seen demons—otherworldly creatures that prey on the innocent—including her classmates.

Sure, she loves shopping, gossiping with her friends, rebelling against her parents, and her overwhelming attraction to the one boy that seems to ‘get’ her. Yet deep down, Shiloh knows she isn’t like other teenage girls. There’s the gift of Sight (Yes, she can see dead people), the new magical powers—oh, and the lessons on demon hunting.

With the body count rising, Shiloh resolves to learn more about the deadly curse on the town of Fallen Oaks, as well as the ominous shadows that seem to follow just a few steps behind Trent Donovan, local hottie and Shiloh’s current crush. For reasons, she can’t explain she’s inexplicably drawn to Trent and the haunting world of Craven Manor.

The dark secrets infused within the town have long tendrils, mostly affecting its teenage residents. Even Shiloh and Trent—especially Shiloh and Trent—are not immune from the darkness. And Trent’s not the only one hiding something. Someone in Fallen Oaks has put out a supernatural hit list on the teenagers in town, and now it’s up to Shiloh to face her worst fears, and then fight like hell…
