MY REVIEW:

Oh my gosh! I laughed at so many parts in this book. It was so fun to read. Just when I thought the story was going to go in this direction, something else happens! It had the right amount of adventure, friendship and romance.

The main character, Ruby is a woman of many talents! She is great at rearranging flowers, has tons of patience dealing with customers and Curtis. Plus her way with words captured my attention. I love how Ruby’s life changed when Curtis comes into the picture. I really liked the interaction between them. It was like “serious life” meets “vibrant life”. What can I say about Curtis? The character is quite interesting and to me he kind of opens up a bit more but in a turtle pace way. (I keep trying to picture which actor could pull him off.) When Ruby and Curtis are together, they’re opposites. Like that song “Opposites Attract”, anything is possible!

Now Kim is the other a character in the book who is dealing with her life, ex husband and more. Even her story was fun to read. There were twists and turn with her. She also has a great friendship with Ruby. She comes across a man named Adrian who might be a new flame for her but does it happen? Adrian is a nice man who lost his wife a few years ago and has a daughter. I love the interaction between him and Kim. There’s respect and kindness between the two. (For some reason I keep picturing Dermot Mulroney as Adrian. Anyone else think this?) I do have to mention that Kim does take in a dog named Boomerang from the shelter which she ends up nicknaming Boomer. I thought it was perfect for her to take care of a dog.

There are two storylines in this book which worked really well. It was like a movie going on. I loved it! I could keep up with the plot, characters and setting. The pace was perfect for me! I am definitely going to read more from this author!

By the way does Kim and Ruby get their happy ever after or will there be more drama for them in the end?

MY REVIEW:

The book did not disappoint! I finally got a chance to read this. I did check this book out from the library but I do need to buy it so I have the complete set! It took me a day and half. I really had to know what was going to happen with Veritas and Ian. I could not put it down. Isn’t the cover stunning? Can I have the model from the cover? (hahahaha I can dream can’t I?)

I love the relationship that Veritas had with all the characters in this book. Her half brother, just when you think you figure him out, he ends up doing something different. Her relationship with her father is just strange but hey.. I love the relationship she has with Ian, they are such a good match. I love how they actually connect and talk. They sizzle. Ian does ooze of sexy! I can picture his accent…or maybe hear it in my head? He’s bad ass in a good way? In this book Ian and Veritas do connect more which I adored! There are so many different characters in this story that it was so fun. Cat and Bones show up also which I enjoyed. Isn’t it rad how some characters just cross over into another story? Even Vlad makes an appearance! *swoons*

The plot is fast paced and it kept on going. It did not seem long to me at all. I know there was a lot of moving to different places to track down the enemy which was fine with me. Some people may have a problem with that. Going into different places was pretty neat. Some were on earth and other places were not. The places that Ian and Veritas went to that were other worldly had a nice description. I can see everything going on in my head. I do have to point out that I loved how they ended up going to New Orleans for a bit. (I still want to visit that place one day.).

I felt like Veritas is the hero who actually risks her life for her love and to save the world. It was the best! It was an adventure and fun to read! Jeanine’s books are always good to read! I am looking forward to more stories from her.

If you are going to read this book, you need to start with book one : Wicked Bite …then book two: Shades of Wicked and then this book Wicked All Night.

My Review:

I’m eating double stuffed oreo cookies while writing this review along with the snow being on the ground here.  It’s like ten degrees outside!  I need more warm socks!

Anyways…..the book! I must focus.   It was sooooooo good like yummy, heck yeah fighting, awesome kick butt, smoochy good!   I figured the book was going to be a slow burn but it wasn’t.   Ian connected with Veritas.  I was surprised he managed to pull that off considering what he had been through.  The feeling I got was that Ian wanted to be with Veritas period.   He knew something that Veritas didn’t.

The way Ian and Veritas play off of each other in the process of finding the sinister creature was plafyul.   They also surprised each other in their powers and thoughts. I thought for sure Ian was set for one way but he surprised me and Veritas in the things he did.   I loved it!   The steamy moments between Ian and Veritas was pretty damn hot.

I also must say that I loved the tender moment Veritas gave to Ian which made my heart soar.  I think this showed her soft, vulnerable side which was nice to see.   She really does love Ian which finally let the light come on inside of her.    Let me think what else…..Oh! When Ian gave Veritas these amazing roses which are suppose to be rare she loved them with all her heart but somehow something happens to them which once again shows her softer side.

I love that Vlad made an appearance along his wife.  Even Bones and Cat showed up.  Plus Ian’s sire made an appearance too.  It was pretty neat to see them show up in this second book.  They all connect somehow like a family tree but supernatural family tree type of thing. Oh, oh, oh by the way there is another new character mentioned in the book that connects to Veritas.  Be amazed!  I was.

This second book is such a fun adventure even though it was more geared towards Veritas.  As the story wraps up at the end, you think it’s going to be a happy ending right? But nope!   A character named Phanes is mentioned.  My brain is like : Who is this?  What is going to happen next?  Will Ian and Veritas have their happy ever after?  Will more drama unfold?  Will all the supernatural forces join in to help?  Questions, questions, questions….and now I have to patiently wait for book three!

If you are going to read this book, you should start with book one: Shades of Wicked.
