Update

Okay I know I’m slacking on blogging and even my reading mojo has been messed up. A thing called stress is what I have been battling with. Stress is not fun. I think I’m getting back to normal so that’s good, right? One day at a time.

Reading status…..engage!

I am almost done with this book. Why didn’t I read these series earlier in life? I cannot put them down it is that good. I am sooooo going go finish this book this weekend and then the next one! Anyone else read these?

I just started this book, so far so good.
Retelling of a fairytale.

I will also dive into this one too!
I have read her previous books and can’t wait to see how this one goes.

I’m Around

I have a few E-Arcs to read and then I will tackle Sarah J. Maas book : Queen of Shadows library book (I am so sure it is wayyyy overdue –yikes!). I do have a few physical books waiting for me too. I am thinking of making a list to get myself going.

Other news: The tv show The Outpost is back on! Thursday nights at 8 pm central time. Oh my gosh I am so happy for this to be back on. It is just nice to escape into this fantasy, action, drama world. I love the characters in the show. I am so looking forward to this Thursday. Sometimes the cast, directors interact on Twitter with the fans. So much fun! I have noticed that my imagination makes me think of other endings. Plus I also think of how did they pull off that scene with the background or fighting.

Do I have a favorite character?
Hahah That is such a hard question because all the characters bring something to the table.

Check the show out if you get a chance.

Update

I am still around! I just have been a tiny bit busy with kids, life, work… When the pandemic hit, it just got crazy. All of this made me stop blogging for a bit because of  the chaos.  I know it’s dramatic but it’s true!  I am sure there are other readers out there are juggling things and can fall into the world of just surviving.

Anyways I will start blogging again regarding to the world of books and reading….It still rules!  I hope everyone is still reading and doing the best they can in these times.

Stay positive!  Stay kind.  Keep reading.

Update Status in the World of Reading

I know i haven’t done an update in a while so I’m going to throw out a mini one. I’ll try to do a more in depth of each book when I can.

I have completed the whole set of  Vampire Girl #1- 4 by Karpov Kinrade    (Vampire Girl, Midnight Star,  Silver Flame and Moonlight Prince)  Each of these books were so good!  I literally could not put them down.   Fantasy, fun, action, life, demons, faeries, and vampires!  So many twists and turns in this book.  A few of them totally caught me off guard!    I checked all 4 books out from my library.

I also read Blade of Darkness (Immortal Guaridans #7) by Dianne Duvall.   The word Immortal caught my eye and first thing was vampires but it is so much more!  So good!   This was a long book but the plot was good I think.    I checked this book out from the local library.

Emma: A Latter-Day Tale by Rebecca H. Jamison.   This book was fun to read in a few days.   It was a bit of drama and such good fun.  It kind of reminded me of a modern day age of Emma/Jane Eyre type of feel.  It was a nice break from my usual vampires, action and fantasy and romance genre.  I own this book.

Fire, magic, queens, dukes and more….The Tethered Mage (Sword & Fire #1)  by Melissa Caruso.  Oh gosh!  I saw this book at my local library while waiting for a friend to show up and the cover jumped at me.  I just had to check it out.  Once I got started, I could not stop reading this book.

Currently reading right now: Drop Dead Gorgeous (Bite Night novel #2)  by Juliet Lyons.   Romance, vampires and action….do I need to say more?   This book is from my local library.

Nonfiction books that I have been peeking into: How to Raise Kind Kids by Thomas Lickona and Love Rules  by Joanna Coles.   (Both books are from my local library.)

I have so many books in my to read pile that is it not even funny.  I keep adding stuff in it and then my pile builds up as I know I need to read those books first before I go out and get new books or check them out from my local library!   Hope you like the mini update, what are you reading?

Reading update

My update….

Life has been a tad busy with the holidays….so I have not been able to update my blog. It’s a new year and new goals!  Hopefully I can tackle them all.  So onwards to the reading and books!

I have finished reading Finding the Rainbow by Traci Borum.

FINDING.jpg

What is the book about:

Holly Newbury’s life is on hold in the cozy English village of Chilton Crosse. While her friends are marrying, having children, and embarking on successful careers, Holly is raising her three younger sisters and working part time at the village art gallery. Her life feels incomplete, but family is more important to her than anything. Then a film crew’s arrival galvanizes the community, and Holly becomes fast friends with Fletcher Hays, the movie’s love-shy American writer.

The production of an Emma film isn’t the only drama in town, though. Their father makes a choice that threatens everything she gave up her dreams for. Holly’s sisters endure growing pains. And Fletcher plans to return to America as soon as filming is over, ruining any chance of their relationship blossoming further. After years of sacrificing for others, Holly must find the courage to take a risk on a future she never dared to expect.

My Thoughts:

The cover caught my attention to be honest.  Who doesn’t love rainbows and a lovely countryside?   Then I read the summary of the book and decided to give it a go!

At first it was a little slow but then once I got past that bit, I wanted to know what was going to happen with Holly.  I loved being immersed in Holly’s world and to feel and see what she had to go through with her sisters, her dad, friends and meeting someone new: Fletcher.    The bits of drama here and there popping up was cool.   I really liked it.  It was a break from the usual stuff I read.  It felt cozy and uplighting in a way.   I kept rooting for Holly through everything she went through and thought she was a great character.  Fletcher was an interesting character: a guy from Texas who went to England for school and lived there for a while.  Oh and he plays the guitar..that is a sweet thing!  The book was all good.

Currently Reading:

I am going to try to finish up The Iron Wyrm.  And then perhaps start on Painting the Moon by Traci Borum (which is the first book in the series).  I am going to tackle my to read pile this year.  It is a goal!

More to come soon!

Book update and more…

I know, it’ s been a long time since I have updated on what I am reading.  Life gets in the way.  Being a mother, a library worker and taking care of my house and trying to tend to my hobbies has made me spin around and fall asleep.   Life takes a path here and there. And now here are some updates…

So I did read the 3rd book – Bound by Flames (Night Prince #3) by Jeaniene Frost as it was totally epic!  I do need to get the fourth one as the author did tweet to me that it won’t be out until much later!  I have to wait.  Ohhhhhhhhh be still my heart.    I look forward to seeing her book.

BoundbyFlames

I just finished Jane Vows Vengeance by Michael Thomas Ford.  The cover caught my attention at the library as it was going to the books sale.  I snagged it!  It was quite an interesting read.   Vampires, adventure, historical Jane Austen..imagination and some witty comments in there.   This is the second book as I have not read the first one.

JaneVows

Right now I’m currently reading “Summoning” by Carol Wolf.  This book reminds me of Vampires/Werewolves type of scene.  Not Twilight type but the story is more geared to World of Darkness type of thing.    So far I like it.  I love the main character named Amber who is a wolf shifter and can kick butt.  Her story is rather unique!

SUMMONING

One more update: I watched “Pride and Prejudice Zombies” which was interesting.  I know the plot of Pride and Prejudice because I have read the book a few times (it’s one of my favorites!) and seen the various films of it.  The Zombie side was quite interesting and unique.   Historical with sword fighting and the action was awesome.  I loved the costumes in this movie too.    I may purchase the movie down the road.

ZOMBIES

This is a short update! I am going to try to do more updates when I can.  As I mentioned before life is busy here at times.   On that note, earlier tonight I was outside with my amazing children as the air was chilly and felt perfect to have a bonfire (sadly I do not have a fire pit or anything for that) .  Then my mind wandered to the thought of having someone to snuggle with in this chilly weather would be perfect.  Mind you, a romance relationship is the last thing on my mind.  I have other priorities in life and I thought it was interesting how this thought came to my mind tonight.  Maybe I can use this thought in writing one of my stories!

Til then….
